Register Now for the Soap Challenge Club!
As promised, the Soap Challenge Club is now open for registration! This month we will be creating peacock swirl soaps. Only members of the Soap Challenge Club will have access to the instructional video plus written instructions to create their soaps. In addition, members will be able to vote for the soap that best represents the peacock swirl or shows the most creativity. The best part: the winner of the challenge will receive an 18-bar slab mold from Brambleberry with the new silicone liner (or equivalent gift certificate)!!
Once registered, you will receive a username and password as well as the link to access a password-protected post containing the video and written instructions to create a peacock swirl soap. You will have until June 10th to create your soap. Please document the making and final reveal of your soap with video and/or photos! You may post this information on your blog, youtube or facebook business page. On June 10th at 2:00pm CST, I will open up a link-up in the password-protected area where you can share your post. If you have not participated in a Great Cakes Soapworks soap challenge before, you can see an example of a link-up here. The link-up will close and the voting will begin on June 12th at 2:00pm CST. Voting will end on June 14th at 2:00pm CST, and the winner will be announced the following day!
Please be sure you are able to follow through with the challenge before you commit! There is a small, non-refundable fee of $5.95 to participate. Registration for this month’s Soap Challenge Club will remain open until June 3rd at 2:00pm CST. Usernames & passwords will be generated manually, so please be patient with me as I will get your information to you as soon as possible! Are you ready and excited for some seriously fun soaping time??

Registered ! Let’s have fun.
This is something I have always wanted to try, but seriously was afraid to. I am ready!!!
Hello Amy,
Would you please clarify something for me. Does the $5.95 register me for the Club and allow me to participate in all future challenges or will there be a fee per challenge? Also, will you reopen registration for the next challenge if I choose not to participate in this first challenge?
Thanks,
Andrea
@Andrea – The fee is for this month only. Each challenge will have its own fee…and yes, registration will re-open each month. 🙂
So excited to learn the Peacock Swirl! This is such a great idea you’ve come up wity Amy! :). This will help me to stay committed to making new videos on a regular basis too. Thanks for the instruction AND the motivation!
I would need a slab mold in order to do a peacock swirl?
@Angel – Yes, most definitely. There will be other challenges that will require a slab mold as well…shoeboxes work great if you don’t want to invest. I’ve provided instructions for figuring your soap recipe if you need them. 🙂
Registered!! Pretty excited about this…..now to find something to use as a mould 🙂
Hi Amy,
Is the competition open to US residents only? I am in the UK.
Kind regards,
Tanya
@Tanya – It is open to anyone, anywhere. Please join us!!
Registered and READY!
Holy Cow Batman! That is a gorgeous Peacock swirl you have there Miss Amy. Makes me want a slab to play!!
I’m so excited for this to start-up and I can’t wait to hear about all the fun entries. =)
I just registered for the peacock swirl soap challenge. Where can I find the link for the video and instructions? I received a receipt for my payment, but the instructions weren’t in there and I can’t find a link on your site.
@Michelle – Your username & password are generated manually. Just sent them out this morning! Thanks for participating!
This should be fun, I’ve done the peacock swirl a couple of times, but was not that thrilled with the results. Mostly I get ash or bubbles on the top (even when using alcohol), and it obscures the beautiful swirls. Up for the challenge!
What a super idea, Amy! Sorry I can’t join in this month (end of school year madness around here!), but I’ll be watching for all the results and hopefully be a part of another challenge in the future.
