How to Make Colorful Soap: Final Reveal!
Here it is! I’m very pleased with the way it turned out, and there are fewer air pockets than I thought!
For next time, I think I might do one third of the batch in the colored imbeds. It would help to have more of the base soap to hold it together. I chose half because it was easier to figure out the batch size.
I’m still deciding on the name. I’d like to make a matching lotion for this scent, but I’m not sure someone would buy a lotion called “Celebration.” (That was the name of the soap I was trying to duplicate.) The scent is described as “refreshing and fruity with a nuance of floral; it’s bursting with raspberry, peach and other fruits as well as a touch of citrus mingled up with a light floral of lily, magnolia and a tiny hint of musk to warm it.”
And what you’ve all been waiting for: This soap will be available for purchase Saturday, September 20 (at the latest) at the Olathe Farmer’s Market. I’ll try to have it available on the website before then. Stay tuned!

It is so pretty! I love it!
Thanks! 🙂
Hi,
Would I be close saying the best way to style a soap shop is to make it look like a candy store (or a sweet shop if your a limey like me). When i go into a Lush store they seem to have it just right and your soap pics look just the same. Lush have an American way of running a business which is to make everything look perfect and good enough to eat. I think maybe thats why they are so successful.
Well, Chris, I don’t have a retail shop, just an online one. But I would definitely say that having a professional website includes professional looking photos of your products.
Do you think you will ever get a shop or will you just stay on-line? Whoever does your site (or is it you in between getting covered in oils and soap) knows what he is doing with his SEO anyway.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get a shop. I mainly sell at the local farmer’s market. I have my regulars after five years there. 🙂
I do my own website. Yes, I’ve been learning about SEO and implementing things when I have the time! Thanks for noticing!
