A Pile of Apples

While I was busy selling soap at the farmer’s market on Saturday, my husband was invited to take the girls down to a piece of property near Spring Hill, KS to pick apples. The girls apparently had a wonderful time. We now have a PILE of apples. There were three Granny Smith trees and one Red Delicious tree, and all of them were loaded with apples. My husband has already taken charge of making four batches of applesauce and two apple pies. There are probably two more bushels of apples still in the garage. What a blessing! When I asked my girls if they had a good time picking apples, they said, “Oh yes! We’ve never seen where apples come from before! And we got to climb the ladders…”

Yay! How fun for them 😀
We have TONS of apple trees around here…OLD apple trees from people who settled here first. Every year we pick apples and make cider with them. Ali knows it’s about that time because the trees are loaded!
