Back From Florida
Did you miss me this week? We surprised our girls with a Disney vacation! We took them to the airport last Friday after school, and didn’t tell them where we were going until we were getting ready to land in Orlando. There was a whole big charade going on with their teachers, and some friends – let’s just say the girls were very surprised!!
My husband’s entire family was there. His parents invited all of us to stay in a villa with them near Disney. We enjoyed the pool and mini golf at the villas, going to Cocoa Beach, the Boardwalk, outlet shopping, and of course, Disney World.
All fifteen of us descended upon Magic Kingdom on Tuesday morning when it opened, and nine of us stayed until the fireworks were over. Let’s just say that 14 hours at the park was a LONG day. Unfortunately, Space Mountain is closed for renovation, so we rode Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain several times – the girls’ favorites. I was surprised that all the kids loved the race cars – especially since the cousins consist of six girls and one boy!
We tried to spend as much time as possible just relaxing (and getting tan). The weather was absolutely perfect all week – a few fluffy white clouds with highs in the 80’s, while we were thumbing our noses at the weather reports in Kansas of rain, rain, and more rain.
I was so glad the rain finally let up and I was able to go to my first farmer’s market this morning – but now I’m tired again!! More about that tomorrow…
