Congrats to Our Drop Swirl Challenge Winners!
For March we had the largest number of Challenge Club members yet! Our technique was the drop swirl, which was definitely a popular one, as we had the highest percentage of members who submitted their soap as well. Members get three votes to spread out to their top three picks, excluding their own, and as you might imagine, choosing from 75 different entries was a rather difficult task! We had a very tight race up until the very end, but our grand prize winner took a margin of just three votes over second place. Congratulations goes to Zahida from Florida – once again!! She created a beautiful cold-process mixed with melt & pour drop swirl soap:
Zahida wins the $100 gift certificate from Majestic Mountain Sage – woo hoo!!!
Our second and third place winners were not far behind. In second place we have Maya from Tokyo, Japan with her gorgeous ylang ylang and patchouli drop swirl soap:
Third place goes to Lisa from Sydney, Australia. Her drop swirl soap was inspired by a dragonfruit! She used yuzu fragrance and some poppy seeds to mimic the dragonfruit seeds.
Maya and Lisa will receive free registration to next month’s Soap Challenge Club which will begin again on Monday! If you’d like to see the rest of the Challenge Club drop swirl soaps, you can check them out HERE.
For next month, I have chosen a Flower Power theme. The challenge is to create a cold-processed soap with any type of floral design. Here are the two I will demonstrate for the tutorials:
Our sponsor will be Brambleberry! Prize package to be announced soon! Registration will open Monday. If you are signed up to receive Soap Challenge Club notifications, you will be the first to find out when it opens. If you would like to be notified, sign up below:

Congrats to Zahida (your soap was the first one I voted for too), but after that it was soooo hard to pick only 2 more since there were so many other awesome soaps! 🙂 Everyone did such a good job on this challenge. I had a lot of fun doing this with all of you and hope to do another one of Amy’s fun challenges soon.
Happy soaping everyone!
Congratulations to Zahida and Maya! I had SO MUCH fun designing and making my soap, and I had a hard time choosing between so many amazing entries. Thank you again to Amy for the opportunity to learn and practice something new! The drop swirl is now one of my favourite techniques.
These soaps are simply stunning. Amy, thank you so much for giving us soapers a meeting place that is beautiful, fun and inspiring!
