Felted Soap Update
Thanks for all the responses about the felted soap! After spending a couple days at my parent’s house, I wanted to get back with everyone and let you know:
1. It is NOT scratchy at all. Feels very soft on the skin. Obviously NOT something you should use if you are allergic to wool, however!
2. I need to work on my felting skills – the wool was coming off the soap after using it the first time. Oops!
3. A couple people asked about what to do with the wool once the soap is gone. I am imagining that it would be great for scrubbing dishes!
Hope you have a Happy New Year! I love the idea of “starting fresh” with a new year. It’s list making time at the Warden house!

I had never heard of felted soap before you posted about it. It seems like a very interesting concept!

the leftover wool at the end of the bar of soap is great for a number of things … one of our customers reported that after running it through the washer to get the residual soap out she would open one end and stuff it with catnip, another customer used to open the end of the felted bars and stuff slivers of soap in that were too small to leave in the shower and yet another customer says that the felted wool makes a great computer screen cleaner. We used to do medieval re-creations and sell our felted soaps for camping as it was a washcloth and bar of soap all in one and no more losing the household bath linens at camping events …
Just some food for thought *grin*
