On the Curing Rack: Cinnamon Apple Peach
Even as the temperature outside is making record highs today, it’s time to start thinking about Fall! Last year I introduced the Cinnamon Apple Peach soap to the fall line-up, and it was everything you would imagine it would be. Warm and spicy with lots of juicy apples and peaches – delish! This year it was the soap with the most votes on my informal Facebook poll, so here it is:
Last year I was unprepared for the fragrance to move so quickly, and I ended up with one dark brown layer and a lighter layer on top instead the three layers I had planned. This fragrance is much too nice to give up on however, so this time I was better prepared (added the fragrance to the oils before adding the lye), and the swirl turned out exactly as I had hoped! I used a nice bronze mica for the apple stamp which sets it off nicely, don’t you think?
This soap should be ready to sell at Greatcakessoapworks.com on August 29th

Wow, look at that ITP swirl! Perfect with the gold apple seal!
That is SO cute, I adore the apple stamp and the fragrance sounds divine! I tend to use full water on all soaps anyway (gives more time to play) and always put the fragrance in with my oils (cos otherwise I’m afraid I’ll forget!)… beautiful work!!!
Beautiful stamp, Amy! The bronze mica works so well with your soap colors, wonderful touch!
I love the apple stamp. It’s the perfect way to finish the soap. I have never tried adding the fragrance to the oils before adding the lye. Can this also be done with essential oils?
@tara – Yes, you can add your essential oils or fragrance to the oils before adding the lye. Works well with those finicky spicy type essential oils. 🙂
Amy,
The stamp is a nice touch and the I like the swirlies.
