On the Curing Rack: Lily of the Valley
I must say, this soap turned out better than I hoped! I was afraid there would be streaks of green mica in the frosting after seeing bits of it on my spatula, but the lines are very crisp and distinct:
Just the right amount of mica to have a thin, green line and not enough to cause the layers to separate = success!!
Two of these are already spoken for (and by someone other than my friend for whom I had promised to make this soap!), but they won’t be fully cured and ready to sell until at least July 20th.
Now, is anyone else inspired to try this technique? I’m pretty sure I’ll do it again!

Ohhh wow!!! These turned out just perfect! I adore the green against the yellow, so summery and beautiful. Stunning … but what else would I expect? A total triumph!
I had read something before about that technique, but have not tried it-yours looks very nice. I was sort of wondering if you had enough mica down-but it worked out great!Nice job!(as always)
now I have to run out and get hosiery,,, great job!
@joanna – No worries, they are super cheap at the drug store! LOL!
Love it! Pretty subtle green line. Looks like whipped frosting on top. Lily of the Valley is sooooo pretty too.
Totally gorgeous! I love the green mica with it. I bought hose a while back just for soaping as I don’t have it around otherwise. 🙂
Oh love this, the white looks like snow on top and that colour yellow is so pretty, very beautiful!
Amy, they are breathtaking!! Good job girl! I’ve wanting to try this technique too but now after seeing this…going to do it for sure!! They are beautiful girl!! Love the colors you chose! You are amazing!!
That looks to gentle and sweet! I love it and I think it must go perfectly with the lovely scent of Lily of the valley.
I Love Love Love! this soap! Thanks for sharing this technique!
BEAUTIFUL SOAP!!!! I have seen other soapers do this technique.. but never tried it myself… do you sprinkle the mica on? make a little slurry mica with soap and water? not sure how it is done.. but it is very crisp and clean and refreshing!!
great job!
Thank you, Christine! I actually described the process in the post just before this one. Check it out here.
I’ve included photos and everything. 🙂
