On the Curing Rack: Peppermint Soap

Yes, I know…it’s been ages. I’m still here. Between school and church activities, keeping up with production and filling orders, and trying to get some quality time in with my family, I’m stretched pretty thin right now. I know you understand!

I made Peppermint soap earlier this week. I swirl the soap in the pot, and sometimes I get a little too anxious to pour the red soap in, and then the swirls get more pink than red. My goal this time was to practice a bit of patience and let the soap set up just a bit so that the red and white wouldn’t be so apt to mix together. I think it worked!

This is definitely my most popular holiday soap. Six bars are already spoken for, and it won’t be ready until Saturday, November 13! This is the third year I’ve made it – and it’s only available during the holiday season. I’m sure this won’t be the last batch I’ll be making this year. Last year I made and sold 5 batches – 125 bars.

If you also make holiday scented goodies, what is your best selling holiday fragrance? If you like to purchase holiday scented goodies, which holiday fragrance is your favorite?

  1. Love the swirl! My favorite holiday fragrance always has something warm and woodsy, a little bit of sandalwood always brings out the holiday magic. 🙂

  2. Peppermint soaps are so refreshing and festive. I love the marble swirl you have in this one. It reminds me of those mints at restaurants- I can almost smell it from here!

  3. This looks so good and it would be a perfect gift for my peppermint soap obsessed best friend. Count me in for some!

  4. Beautiful Soap Amy!

Peppermint has long been a favorite of mine. Your soap reminds me of a candy cane! This would make such a perfect stocking stuffer!

  5. I love peppermint, and I also love Bayberry (the popularity of that might be a regional thing where I grew up, as I don’t see it where I live now).
