Shea Butter Feedback
As you may know, I made a new Whipped Shea Butter recently with some refined, high melt point shea butter. I sent out samples to nine women who responded that they would like to try it, and they have sent me their feedback. You’ll get a good giggle out of my friend Autumn’s feedback. We’ve never met in real life, but I sure do enjoy her blog, Autumn Asks Why about her life as a Christian military wife and mom. Added bonus at the end: feedback from Tiggy of FuturePrimitive whose photo I snagged from her blog.
Here’s their honest feedback. Notice how their different skin types make them want it more greasy, or less. Or like Goldilocks found Baby Bear’s things to be “just right.”
Mavette in Thousand Oaks, CA says:
It’s Fabulous! So Silky!!!! I was using it on my lips!
Kim in Kirkland, WA says:
Likes: Whipped texture. Nice shea moisture without the greasiness.
Dislikes: I’m a lotion hater and to me, this is like lotion because I have to reapply it or my hands get dry. For this reason, I prefer salve. But, yours is nice to reapply because, as mentioned above, it’s has the nice qualities of shea without greasiness.
Overall: Nice product.

OK – this Shea butter is wonderful. Hands down the very best thing for my poor heels in the world! Now that it’s flip flop season, we all want our feet to look fabulous. If you have cute painted toes but your heels look awful, it’s not a good thing. So – two thumbs up from me on the Shea butter! Thanks Amy!
Jodi in Olathe, KS says:
I loved the shea butter for my feet but it was a little too greasy for my hands. I hope this helps! Thanks for letting me try some!
Michele in Lubbock, TX says:
Superb product! Not greasy, grainy or waxy feeling. Great consistency! My skin felt great – I tend to be on the dry side so, I love the moist dewy feeling your shea left behind. Thanks for letting me be a part of your test group.
Sarah in Gardner, KS:
I just love the new shea butter! I loved the previous version, but this is way better!!!! I have horribly dry skin that cracks and bleeds and nothing has ever worked like Amy’s shea butter. This new version is AMAZING! It is not as greasy as the other, and absorbs much faster but still moisturizes just as long. It is easier to get out of the jar and distributes on your skin so much easier. I love the creamy new texture too! It’s like frosting! I will be replacing my old shea butter with the new and improved. Thanks Amy for making another product I can’t live without!
Naomi in San Diego, CA says:
1st impressions: No scent at all! White, fluffy, creamy, very appealing in the jar. Sinks right into skin without being greasy. Doesn’t leave palms of hands shiny and greasy like other whipped sheas I’ve tried. I like this a lot.
Holly in Belton, MO says:
I’ve been using the shea butter sample at night for the last three nights and I am very impressed. I haven’t been a fan of whipped shea butter in the past but I do really like yours. I didn’t feel any graininess at all, it was very smooth. I have had troubles with allergies and thought that shea might be a contributor but I actually have had LESS problems with my skin allergies. Go figure! So I am super-duper impressed…
Autumn in WPAFB, OH says:
I loved the whipped shea butter. The texture was really appealing. I tried it for several things and was most impressed on the job it did on my poor dry feet. I have weird sweating issues due to a thyroid problem, which in turn makes me try to keep them dry as much as possible and it causes this vicious cycle of sweaty wet then over dry. More info that you needed huh? Anyways, it handled the dry heels beautifully without being overly heavy. I didn’t even have to use it every day to keep the heels hydrated either.
And speaking of TMI….
I had a work-out pants epic fail while running on the treadmill the day the shea butter came in. Yep, the seam in the thigh unraveled…um…up one leg and over to the other. Porno pants. But I was at home and I didn’t want to stop running because I knew I wouldn’t get back on. To make a long story short I chapped my legs but good. Never done that before. So I went rummaging through the closets looking for something to put on the chapped parts and remembered your envie. Used the shea butter and I only had to not run one day. And I was seriously chapped. Way impressed with that kind of results without having to resort to Vaseline!
Thanks for letting me try the shea butter. Now I understand why everyone loves it so much!
Tiggy in the UK just posted what she thinks of my Whipped Shea Butter on her blog (along with photos of her new Vanillas in the Mist soap. It’s gorgeous – AND all natural!) Her review starts something like this…
I had been lusting over Amy’s whipped shea for a long while before asking her if she’d ship some to me in the UK. She came back with a proposal too good to miss.

Oh, and I almost forgot – if you’d like to get your hands on some of this Whipped Shea Butter, you can get the 1.5 oz jar for just $7.00 here, or the 3 oz. jar is $12.00 here. Both are unscented. Hopefully I can add the Vanilla Hazelnut again soon!

I LOVE the sample that you sent me of the new whipped shea butter. I like the texture – the older product is harder to get out of the jar – but this is great! And I love that it has no scent at all. I like shea butter for my hands and feet, but can’t stand the smell of it. The new whipped is perfect!! Thank you.
I’m going to have to get some…especially after Autumn’s review…I walk and run a lot during the week and think this would be a great addition to my getting dressed routine;o) My heels have been asking me for something for a while and I have been ignoring them…sounds like I can kill 2 birds with one stone:o) When do you think you will have the Vanilla Hazelnut added?
@Sarah – I’m hoping next week I’ll have a chance to make the Vanilla Hazelnut. I’ll be sure to let you know when it becomes available!
