She’s Seven and a HALF
My girls’ birthdays are exactly two weeks apart, so they get to celebrate them pretty close together! Because they have summer birthdays, the school allows them to celebrate their half birthdays while school is session. Yesterday was my younger daughter’s turn to celebrate. She asked for a Happy Meal for lunch, and ice cream sandwiches for her classmates.
After lunch, her teacher brought her up to the front of the classroom and they sang “Happy Half Birthday” to her. The class gets to celebrate Miss Nelson’s half birthday on Monday!
Today, we checked to see how much she’s grown since her (real) birthday in August. Someone needs to put a book on her head, because she’s grown 1 1/4″ in the last six months!! She’s still half an inch shy of the 54″ mark – the ultimate goal so that she can ride The Patriot roller coaster at World’s of Fun. I’m sure she’ll be there by the time summer begins!

She’s such a lovely girl. They sure grow up fast! Pretty brave one too! I could never do a roller coaster 🙂
@Michelle – Thank you! Both the girls love roller coasters – but they get that from their dad, not me! 🙂
Happy half birthday to her! And to your other one when that rolls around too. That’s a great policy, the ability to celebrate half birthdays in school. My birthday is July 28 and we didn’t have that.
