Summer Soap Preview
Along with the Caribbean Diva, I will have two more new soaps available around mid-June. First up, is a re-designed, better smelling Sweet & Sassy:
This soap fragrance is a nice caramelized vanilla with some floral and fruity notes, rounded out by sandalwood and pink pepper. Delicious!
You might recall last year’s version, which was a black soap with pink soap balls:
There were two factors involved in the way I designed this soap previously. 1. The vanilla content discolors the soap, and 2. I bought the fragrance on clearance, so I wanted to stretch it as far as possible. So, I went ahead and colored the main soap black since it was going to discolor anyway, and then I used a simple musk fragrance in the pink soap balls. The result was ok. It still smelled pretty good, but there were definitely some undertones that reminded me of play dough.
This time I left out the musk, and it’s MUCH better! The pink & white soap on top is simply unscented.
Next, is a brand new soap called Tahitian Vanilla:
Obviously, it is made with another discoloring fragrance, but WOW! It’s so worth it! This is more of a tropical vanilla fragrance with a hint of citrus. In fact, out of the bottle it smells just like a sunscreen I purchased at Walgreen’s a few years ago. So yummy! I mixed some green and yellow mica together for the contrasting color, hoping for more of a lime green, but this works too!
I still want to re-create the Sweet Surrender soap with all-natural ingredients. I finally got my package of organic cocoa butter yesterday, so I’m planning to try out a small batch soon! I hope you are having a great week so far!

These look lovely Amy! Love the new sweet & sassy!
Wow I really love the new sweet & sassy too but the old one looks fab as well. I love vanilla, just wish it didn’t discolor sometimes. I know you can get ones that don’t but they are never as good imho
Stunning! Love them all, even the black one LOL … I just adore your soaps. GRRRRR @ discolouring FOs though, they just drive me nuts. But a clever designer (like you!) can work their way around it. Just so lovely (I’m a big fan of pink!)
Yep, those vanillas can be tricky! So worth it though!
Gorgeous looking soaps, all of them. Couldn’t decide which wanted I wanted more. Very nice photos as well 🙂
Hi Amy,
Your Sweet & Sassy looks so good. The top of the soap looks just like cake. Exquisite decorating and design there.
I also like the Tahitian Vanilla Soap with its tropical vanilla fragrance with a hint of citrus. I’m sure it’s worth the discoloration fragrance. Great looking soap.
Nice job.
Thank you, Michael & C’bong!
I think the new Sweet and Sassy fits the name better this year. Great job!
They’re exquisite! I’d hate to see them melt but they’re soaps, aren’t they? LOL!
@Karoline – Thanks for the compliment! I do hope people will actually use them! 🙂
Hi Amy,
I hope you’re having a great Memorial Day weekend! Your soaps are stunning! I love the way Sweet & Sassy looks and the description sounds delicious!
I really like the way you have such beautiful texture on the top of your soaps. I’m curious about how you package your soaps. I’ve created some soaps lately that have more texture (with bumpy tops) and I’m looking for some ideas on how to package them. I might need to have a narrower wrap go around the sides rather than around the top and bottom.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Enjoy your day!! Leslie
@Leslie – Thank you so much! I think you’ve already figured it out – I use a band that wraps horizontally on the ones with textured tops. Works great!
